Research Associate-Fixed Term

Position Summary

The Institute of Water Research (IWR) at Michigan State University seeks a postdoctoral candidate to assist in water conservation projects and research. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in crop modeling, soil science, and geospatial analysis. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with DSSAT or related crop models. IWR specializes in translating hydrologic research into accessible online decision support systems, so experience with web development, including JavaScript, ASP.NET, styling, and database management would be a bonus.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Crop/Soil Sciences, Ag Engineering, Natural Resources, or Other related science field

Minimum Requirements

· A Ph.D. in crop/soil sciences, agricultural engineering, natural resources, or other related science field

· Greater than one year of relevant and progressively responsible experience in crop modeling procedures, as well as conducting analytical and research techniques in a field related to the research being conducted.

· Excellent communication skills and fluent in English

Desired Qualifications

· Experience working with hydrological modeling such as SWAT, MODFLOW and HYDRUS
