Position Summary

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Michigan State University (MSU) invites applications for a fixed-term position as an instructor in physics. The central responsibility of this position will be to teach upper-division lab courses, including electronics and optics. A PhD in physics or related field at the time of the start of the position is required, and previous experience teaching upper-division lab courses is required.  The appointment will be for the 2025-2026 academic year; the salary will be based on experience. The appointment is potentially renewable for additional years based on department needs and satisfactory performance.

Required Degree

Masters -Physics or related field

Desired Degree

Doctorate -Physics or related field

Minimum Requirements

A Masters degree in physics or related field at the time of the start of the position is required, and previous experience teaching upper-division lab courses is required.

Desired Qualifications

A Ph.D. in physics or related field at the time of the start of the position is preferred
