Position Summary

The incumbent will join a vibrant team of NSF-funded research scholars, participating in ongoing research projects regarding plant biotic and abiotic stress. The incumbent will be expected to design and execute experiments, analyze data, present results at professional meetings, and write manuscripts for publication in appropriate journals. In addition to the research activities, the position also includes duties related to general lab organization and mentoring undergraduates.
A start date of April 1st, 2024, is preferred, but alternative timelines will be considered. The initial appointment is available for one year, with the potential for continuation contingent upon funding and performance. Required Degree
Doctorate -Plant Science, Plant Genetics, Plant Biology
Minimum Requirements
A minimum of a Doctorate or Ph.D. degree in plant science, plant genetics, or plant biology-related area is required.
The candidate should be experienced in and adept at plant growing and maintenance work in growth chambers. The candidate should communicate and collaborate effectively with a team of researchers from diverse scientific backgrounds. The candidate should be capable of learning new things and be cooperative and supportive.
Desired Qualifications
Candidates with experience in RT-qPCR, RNA-seq/ChIP-seq analysis, and confocal microscopy are strongly preferred.
