Technical Aide

Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

• Maintain remote cameras for sampling wildlife on 30 ac sites.
• Must be comfortable navigating to remote sites with compass and Avenza maps. Sites can be challenging to walk into and through, with 2-3 miles of walking required per day through brambles and logging debris slash from recent harvest left on some sites.

• Successful candidates will be flexible, independently motivated, and show strong initiative.
• Candidates must be willing and physically able to spend long days in the field, sometimes walking several miles and/or navigating difficult managed forest conditions at experimental sites.
• Background screening required.

Standard workdays will begin around 8:00 am and end at 5:00 – 6:00. Work hours cannot exceed 40 hours per week. Shared housing or hotel and a field vehicle will be provided at no cost.

Desired Qualifications

• Valid driving license.

Walking long distances, uneven terrain, and weather climate
