Position Summary (Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

This position provides support for the Chemical Safety Team within the Office of Environmental Health and Safety by:

  • Scheduling and performing fume hood and local exhaust ventilation testing and certification in a timely manner 
  • Recording results of certifications in database accurately and completely
  • Upholding professional and privacy requirements when working in sensitive research areas
  • Identify potential non-conformities in HVAC systems and reporting promptly to supervisor
  • Maintaining and calibrating industrial hygiene equipment; recording results of equipment

Desired Qualifications

Aptitude and proficiency in repairing and maintaining scientific equipment; broad foundation in physical or life sciences.
