Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

Assist with tasks to 1) prepare and pack art objects for touring in the Porcupine Quill Art exhibit, 2) arrange shipping of objects to first exhibition site, 3) assist with any needed interim tasks pertaining to objects as the exhibition tours, and then, 4) at the end of the exhibition, helping with shipping the exhibition back to MSU Museum, then unpacking the objects, returning those MSU-owned items to their proper on-campus collection housing, packing up and returning loaned objects to owners, and returning crating and packing materials to proper storage locations.

Activity will be intermittent as needed during the period Oct 15, 2024 and November 1, 2025.

Activities 4 must be completed by December 30, 2025.

Desired Qualifications

At least 3 years of professional experience packing and handling art objects for traveling exhibitions

Summary of Physical Demands

The job will physically demanding work of lifting 50 lbs or more and also 25 lbs. frequently, as we will have up to 15 vitrines with bases and also the crates containing artwork to ready for shipping.
