Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
Unit Position Summary
WKAR Public Media is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Membership Associate to support donor engagement and fundraising activities. This part-time on-call position plays a key role in developing communications, coordinating donor experiences, and supporting on-air fundraising efforts.
The ideal candidate would possess a proven track record of developing effective written communications across multiple platforms (including but not limited to email, digital, print, and on-air scripts.
We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a mission-driven team. The successful candidate will need to learn about best practices in public media donor engagement and possess the ability to use their knowledge to effectively and efficiently write copy.
Up to 19 hours per week; with flexible scheduling except during pledge drives Work Arrangement: Hybrid (in-person and remote) work requiring occasional in-office support during the week and possible evenings during pledge drives
Desired Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Interest in nonprofit fundraising, marketing, or public media. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Willingness to learn digital tools (training will be provided). Availability to work some fixed shifts during pledge drives (typically mornings or early evenings).
