Position Summary

The Clinical Science Area Program Administrator provides administrative and operational support for the MSU Psychological Clinic, the Clinical Science graduate program, and the Department of Psychology. The position supports the daily functioning of the clinic by coordinating communication with clients, students, clinicians, and supervisors; assisting with scheduling, records, billing, supplies, and space management; and helping ensure that clinic operations run smoothly and professionally. The position also supports the Clinical Science graduate program through assistance with accreditation-related activities, program scheduling, events, admissions and recruitment, faculty and speaker visits, evaluations, and other ongoing administrative needs. In addition, the position provides limited
departmental support as needed. Across these responsibilities, the role requires strong organization, communication, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired in the first two or three years in college, six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in office administration, customer service, scheduling, records management, financial processing, and/or program support; experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database, calendaring, and communication  tools; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in office administration, customer service, scheduling, records management, financial processing, and/or program support; experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database, calendaring, and communication  tools

Experience providing administrative support in a university, healthcare, mental health, or clinical training setting. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively with students, faculty, staff, clients, and external stakeholders. Experience with scheduling, records management, financial processing, event coordination, and/or program support. Familiarity with university systems, electronic records, Microsoft Office/Outlook, Qualtrics, and/or other administrative software is preferred. Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, attention to detail, and discretion in a busy service-oriented environment.
