Applied Music Lessons Instructor

Position Summary

The College of Music is seeking a qualified Instructor to teach applied music lessons during the summer semester. This temporary, fixed-term position is intended to provide individualized instruction to music majors and minors enrolled in applied music lessons . The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of performance proficiency, strong pedagogical skills, and a commitment to student development in a one-on-one instructional setting.

Required Degree

Masters -Music performance or closely related field

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency in music performance
  • Prior experience teaching individual music lessons
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to student learning and development

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in teaching applied music lessons at the collegiate or advanced pre-college level
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • A record of performance as a soloist and/or ensemble member is preferred
