Position Summary

The MSU Department of Family Medicine seeks an experienced Consortium Coordinator to oversee and manage the programmatic, operational, and research activities for the Health Equity Research for Action (HERA) Initiative, a national funding program created by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). HERA is implemented by three coordinating centers based at Michigan State University (MSU), Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM), and Charles R. Drew University (CDU).

This position is based at MSU and focuses on supporting the overall success of HERA by advancing how funding is designed, distributed, disseminated, and evaluated. This role works closely with coordinating center partners, RWJF, and community partners to operationalize community-led research funding and programming.

Key responsibilities will include: 1) working across coordinating centers to assist in developing project plans; 2) coordinating meetings, agendas, materials and follow-up across multiple-groups; 3) managing scheduling and opportunities for Deputy Director and Co-Directors; 4) establishing and maintaining systems for project management and knowledge sharing across partners; 5) tracking MSU project performance, milestones, risks, and deliverables; 6) preparing regular status updates and reports and maintaining program documentations and records within MSU; 7) planning and delivery of large-scale, in-person convenings for HERA grantees and project partners; 8) supporting budget tracking, reporting, and compliance for MSU in alignment with RWJF requirements; 9) ensuring community partners are paid and reviewer stipends are processed; 10) drafting and editing a range of materials, including reports, briefs, presentations, newsletters, and website content; 11) assisting in the development and implementation of funding opportunities for HERA, including application systems and review processes; and 12) coordinating with all members of the MSU team and community partners on meeting important milestones and deadlines.
