Position Summary

The Laboratory of Dr. Fang is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher interested in the development and characterization of materials for next-generation battery applications. We are particularly interested in developing a fundamental understanding of electrode materials, liquid electrolytes, and solid-state electrolytes for Li and Na batteries. In addition to the primary research responsibilities, the successful applicant will be able to participate in other lab and CHEMS departmental activities, including assisting with training of undergraduate and/or graduate students, report writing, and grant writing. This position is initially for one year, renewable annually based on performance and the availability of funding. The position includes salary and fringe benefits for 1 year.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Materials Science, Chemistry

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in materials science, or a related field by the start of the position. The ideal candidate will have a strong chemistry background and rich experience with the synthesis and characterization of battery materials.

Desired Qualifications

Industrial experience in battery R&D and manufacturing is desired.
