This is a temporary position.
To perform and assist in forestry labor.
Identify and mark property boundaries
Cruise timber in designated stand and compile data for future timber sales
Clear trails of downfalls using various implements (tractors/brushogs, gators, chainsaws, skidloaders)
General upkeep and simple maintenance of Dunbar and Escanaba infrastructure
Care for newly planted chestnut orchard and christmas tree plantation
Establish maple syrup demonstration sugarbush infrastructure. Install lines, sap tanks, lateral lines with drops ect..
Assist in the construction of the post beam structure to cover portable sawmill and pellet mill.
Assist in fencing 110 acres to exclude deer
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Student enrolled in Forestry major or closely related curriculum
Self motivated
Willingness to work outside in various weather conditions
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Heavy equipment operation a plus but not required
