This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

The Cannabis Legalization in Michigan (CALM) research team is hiring a Temporary Technical Aide to assist with recruitment and data collection for our CALM-cardiovascular disease (CVD) study. CALM-CVD is a prospective study investigating the cardiovascular health effects of cannabis use. The Technical Aide will report to the Principal Investigator (Dr. Omayma Alshaarawy) and will be responsible for participant recruitment, data collection and entry, collection and processing of biospecimens, and working with recruitment sites to incorporate the study protocol without disrupting clinical care or dispensary operations.

Desired Qualifications

The Technical Aide should have completed a four-year college degree in a related field, have one to three years of work experience in research and/or laboratory procedures, and experience with data analytics software. This position requires phlebotomy licensing or certification and a valid driver's license in the state of Michigan.

Summary of Health Risks

The Technical Aide will be responsible for collecting and processing biospecimens, including blood samples, from study participants.
