This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.
Selected participants will gain invaluable hands-on experience with advanced plant biology techniques in this immersive training program. Participants will explore plant growth analysis through growth measurement techniques, evaluate stress responses by exposing plants to various environmental challenges, and perform DNA extraction and PCR to study plant genetic responses. They will also engage in microscopy-based analysis to observe cellular-level changes in plants under phosphorus stress, deepening their understanding of how plants adapt at the molecular and cellular levels. This program offers real-world experimental experience, equipping participants with both innovative teaching tools and a solid foundation in research techniques that will prepare them to contribute to the next generation of scientific advancements.

High School Students: Participants will work 20 hours per week (four hours per day) for up to four weeks and receive a stipend. The start and end dates of the internship are flexible to accommodate the needs of both the participating teachers and the Extension professionals. However, most internships will begin on June 1, 2025, and conclude by July 1, 2025.
