Position Summary
The Construction Manager for Residential and Hospitality Services (RHS) serves as the liaison between RHS departments and the Planning and Projects office (PPO) to coordinate and oversee medium and large PPO projects, IPF minor project needs, and day to day facilities and infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on space alterations and improvements; directly supervises divisional projects under $250,000 and serves as a customer representative on IPF projects exceeding $250,000; oversees the design process, project budgets, installation, construction, and closeout of RHS projects.
The role involves working closely with contractors, vendors, consultants, and university stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with university standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills to work effectively with a diverse population, the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, and excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions. All positions in RHS are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency conditions, you will be expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If you have an approved remote work agreement to work a portion of your normally scheduled work hours remotely, you may be called upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community. If you have a permanent, on-going, and/or pervasive condition that may impede your ability to work on-site, please contact the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD) at rcpd.msu.edu/get-started.

Demonstrated ability to interpret construction documents and communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, consultants, and stakeholders; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
