Working/Functional Title

RHS Human Resources Administrator

Position Summary

Oversees and administers the human resource functions for the Auxiliary Sports Group (ASG) and Associate Vice President (AVP) department of Residential and Hospitality Services (RHS); oversees all regular and temporary team member hiring and onboarding; serves as the liaison between MSU HR and departmental administrators regarding human resource policies and procedures; serves as a key team member and partners with others in creating, reviewing and implementing ASG/AVP strategic planning initiatives; works with Supervisors/Managers on preparing job postings; completes PMC requests as well as staffing request form for posting; maintains and monitors job postings as well as hiring recommendations for PageUp; follows internal onboarding procedures for new hires (I-9, new hire trainings, lift tests, etc.); sends out exit interviews to departing or transferring team members, following internal termination procedures and completing forms in SAP; completes reclassification requests; corresponds with supervisor and HR SAP Updates, including address changes, work schedule changes, phone number changes, reporting relationships; ensures work injury/comp forms are completed timely and set to MSU HR; processes wage/salary increases; provide feedback and coaching to staff and management; interprets and/or explains MSU and RHS policies and procedures, FMLA, ACA, LOA, and other federal/State compliance/regulations to team members; meets with department heads, staff, and managers to answer questions or concerns related to ASG or AVP for RHS department managers to strategically determine workforce needs such as hiring, onboarding, training/development, succession planning and interim positions as needed; assists with restructuring needs for assigned units; oversees processes, practices, and training to communicate needs for the division; manages workflow and processes; addresses any concerns within HR Talent Management lifecycle.

All positions in RHS are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency conditions, you will be expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. Minimum Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field, or a field related to the employing unit; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in managing human resource functions, designing and implementing training programs and human resource/labor relations management and computer applications; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; professional certification in HR; experience with human resources software such as SAP/EBS.
