Postdoctoral Research Associate positions are available for an interdisciplinary project focused on developing data-driven mathematical models for cell differentiation. This project involves applying concepts and techniques from theoretical and statistical physics to biomedical and systems biology problems. The primary objective is to create models using the Hopfield model to understand and control cell differentiation processes by integrating single-cell transcriptomics data to simulate gene network dynamics and the effects of various perturbations. This project will apply these models to study angiogenesis (the development of new blood vessels) and hematopoiesis (the production of blood cells). The aim is to enhance understanding and discover new therapeutic targets for diseases such as cancer and age-related macular degeneration.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, age, disability or protected veteran status.
Doctorate -physics, mathematics, computer science
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field prior to the start date. A strong background in statistical physics and programming skills are required, along with basic knowledge of genetics and biochemistry.
