Research Associate-Fixed Term

Position Summary

Applicants with a strong background in applied electrochemistry, environmental process engineering, and material science are strongly encouraged to apply. In addition to independent research activities, the postdoc will assist with project management, coordinate project teams, prepare manuscripts and proposals, and mentor graduate students. 

The initial appointment is for nine months, with the possibility of renewal upon mutual satisfaction with the work and funding availability.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Engineering or a closely related degree

Minimum Requirements

1. Ph.D. in relevant science and engineering fields.
2. Good oral and written communication skills, team spirit, and experience in publishing peer-reviewed papers.
3. A minimum of one year of prior postdoctoral or equivalent research experience is required. 

Desired Qualifications

1. A good knowledge of electrocatalysis, process engineering, and aquatic chemistry;
2. Extensive experience in electrochemical system development and operation (e.g., stationary and rotating electrode systems), electrochemical analysis techniques (e.g., voltammetry, amperometry, and EIS), X-ray characterization techniques (e.g., SEM-EDX, XRD, and XPS), and water quality analysis (e.g., IC, ICP-MS, and HPLC).

Department Statement
