Research Associate-Fixed Term

Position Summary

• A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with Dr. Zhaojian Li.
• The primary responsibility of the research associate is to work on the smart agriculture field and disseminate research results through publications and conferences. A strong engineering, computer vision, and agriculture background are essential. In addition, the research associate will be expected to assist in writing research proposals and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
• This is a one-year position renewed annually with extension contingent on funding and performance.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related

Minimum Requirements

• Doctorate – Electrical and computer engineering, computer science, or a closely related field.
• A demonstrated record of good publications in related field.

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of engineering, computer vision, and agricultural applications.
• Be able to work independently and in collaboration with other researchers; publish findings in peer-reviewed journals; and write proposals and reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
