Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

Provide administrative support to the Office of Development and Alumni Relations within the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Sorting and delivering mail
  • Managing team calendars
  • Logging and processing donations, including pet memorial gifts and clinic pet memorial card donations
  • Generating and sending gift acknowledgments, pet memorial notification letters, and clinic pet memorial cards
  • Managing our shared Development inbox; responding to and forwarding messages as appropriate
  • Creating transmittals for check, cash, and credit card gifts then delivering gifts to University Advancement.
  • Researching alumni to update employment history and contact information.
  • Creating new Cases within the Ascend database.
  • Reviewing reports for accuracy/duplication, editing as needed
  • Reserving spaces for meetings; setting up rooms as needed
  • Processing and sending First-time Donor gifts
  • Processing Gift-in-Kind forms
  • Assisting Development Officers with travel plans when needed
  • Assist with event planning and preparation

Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office products including:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • Teams
  • Outlook

Desired Qualifications

Preferred experience with:

  • KFS/MSU Accounting Systems
  • Ascend
  • Concur
  • Past administrative role(s) within MSU
