Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Summary of Health Risks

Safety: The project will require people to operate equipment – a skid loader and a small feed mixer. People will of course be trained on that.

The other safety factor is that we are studying the effects of PFAS chemicals on cattle, which means that they will need to open a sealed container with a solution of PFAS each day and pour that into a feed mix. They will have the MSU mandated PPE for that work:

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): All personnel must wear standard laboratory attire: nitrile gloves, lab coat, and eye protection, long pants, and closed-toe shoes when handling PFAS.

Summary of Physical Demands

Lifting: The main physical activity is scooping out leftover feed – and 50 lb would probably be rare.
