Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

WKAR Public Media seeks an on-call Digital Content Creator to work across functional areas. Reporting to the WKAR Communications Manager, this position will research, produce and publish online content - including text, images, and videos for various digital platforms. Duties will include idea generation, content creation, editing and basic graphic design. The role also assists with SEO optimization and adapting content for different digital platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment to shoot, edit, and post engaging and authentic short-form content that grows digital audiences and drives dialogue.

Desired Qualifications

Collaborative Idea Generation: Work with WKAR’s news, education, development, music, and content teams to develop concepts for shortform digital assets.    
Content Production: Create various types of digital content including written posts, video reels, graphics, and infographics, that amplify the work of WKAR teams.
Editing and Proofreading: Review and refine newsletter content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency before posting and publication. 
Platform Adaptation: Tailor content to suit the specific requirements and best practices of different digital platforms, such as social media networks and blogs. 
SEO Integration: Optimize content with keywords and other SEO best practices to improve its visibility and search engine ranking.
