Postdoctoral Scholar-Fixed Term

Position Summary

The Postdoctoral scholar will join the Dickson laboratory at Michigan State University, working on research problems in computational biophysics.  These could include the development of new approaches for physics-based simulation of molecular motions or their application to biomolecular systems of interest and/or the development or application of computational methods related to drug discovery (e.g. generative models, PK models, lead optimization).

Description of work/duties:

• Working in a team-based environment to solve scientific problems
• Active collaboration with experimental research groups
• Communication of results in scientific manuscripts and conferences
• Seeking external funding and building an independent research program

Required Degree

Doctorate -Chemistry or related field

Minimum Requirements

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field
• Experience performing computational research on biomolecular systems
• Computer programming skills

Desired Qualifications

• Experience developing computational tools for biomolecular systems
• Experience training machine learning models
• Experience working in a collaborative environment on molecular design projects
• Skills with python, PyTorch and OpenMM programs
