Holden Dining Service Worker I

Position Summary

To prep, organize, prepare, and supply various food items pertaining to the salad bars, cold and hot food stations, and to-order service stations in one of the Residence Dining Halls; assists cooks by combining ingredients, portioning, and serving from prepared to order stations; maintains proper food handling and storage techniques to eliminate waste and spoilage; will work within a diverse work force; works directly with customers. This position is located in Holden Hall.

Al l positions in RHS are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition, persons in this position are expected t o make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If a person has an approved  remote work agreement to work a portion of their normally scheduled work hours remotely, they may be called upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community.

Minimum Requirements

• Casual knowledge of food ingredients and correct preparation a nd serving techniques is necessary.
• One-year satisfactory experience as a worker in a food related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience is desirable.
• Willingness to work a flexible shift is necessary.
• Standards of personal hygiene consistent with sanitation rules and regulations is necessary.
• Occasional lifting of 26 to 75 pounds is required.

Customer oriented and ability to anticipate needed changes in service and customer demands; skilled in taking initiative and being highly flexible.

Sunday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday off.
