Athletics Event Management Intern

Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a project pay position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions.

Unit Position Summary

• Post-graduate position working in athletic event management.
• Assist full time staff members in coordination of game day operations for all 21 varsity sports and special events. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in game day event management of assigned sports.
  • Assist in event management of all Big Ten Conference and NCAA Championships, as well as various special events hosted on campus.
  • Assist facility operations in set up/strike of athletic equipment/flooring and bleacher systems.
  • General office duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
• Position hours vary each week. Must be willing to work long hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Position is a 10-month commitment (August-June). Start Date: August 4, 2025.

Pay Range: Monthly stipend not to exceed a pre-determined allocation.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Sports Management or related field.
• Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with prospective student-athletes, student-athletes, staff and University personnel
• Candidate must display a commitment to responsibility for adhering to all the policies, rules and regulations of MSU, the Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA
• Ability to work in variable or severe weather
• Ability to lift, push, pull objects up to 50 lbs.
