Asst Men's & Women's Track and Field Coach, Jumps

Position Summary

The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Michigan State University is searching for a candidate to fill the Assistant Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach position for Jumps. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and implement programs and practice regimens for student athletes including strength training.
  • Assist in pre-season and in-season training, practices and meets, as well as other areas that pertain to the track and field program.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit quality student-athletes.
  • Assist with home meet management.
  • Assist with monitoring academic progress.
  • Manage equipment needs, including purchasing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Degree

Bachelors

Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Division I coaching or competitive experience in horizontal and vertical jumps.
  • Ability to recruit and select highly skilled student athletes.
  • Must be highly organized and be prepared for lengthy workdays. 
  • Candidate must display a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all the policies, rules and regulations of MSU, the Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified strength and conditioning preferred.
