Position Summary

Michigan State University College of Law invites applications from entry-level and lateral candidates for full-time, tenure-track faculty positions with an expected start date of July 1, 2026.  We welcome applications from candidates with exceptional educational, teaching, and scholarship credentials across all areas of law, although subject areas of particular interest include Law and Technology (with program directorship responsibilities) and Health Law.  The College of Law seeks applicants with a commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarly achievement, in line with MSU College of Law's recent academic and scholarly trajectory.  These positions will cover core areas in our curriculum and make strategic inroads into Law and Technology and Health Law that will benefit the University as a whole and foster synergies with other MSU units and initiatives.

All positions are subject to budgetary approval. 

 

The position will:  

Develop class materials, including reading lists, syllabi and any online content.  

Teach law and law-related classes.  

Provide advice and guidance for students during class and office hours. 

Assist with promotion and development of MSU College of Law programs.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Law

Minimum Requirements

J.D. or Ph.D. in related discipline.  

Knowledge of the legal profession.  

Ability to work with a diverse group of people.  

Excellent communication skills. 

Experience working with computer applications including legal databases. 

Desired Qualifications

Prior teaching experience.
