Animal Caretaker II

Position Summary

Cleans and handles animals in the small animal clinic of the Veterinary Medical Center. Uses power sprayers, steam cleaners and other equipment to clean and maintain building and equipment; maintains accurate records and observes animals for signs of illness and reports symptoms to supervisor; assembles and repairs cages and equipment within animal rooms. Frequent lifting of 26-75 lbs.

Minimum Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of animals and their care. One year satisfactory experience as an Animal Caretaker I or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience. Participate in job related in-service education. Willingness to work a flexible shift. Possession of a valid Michigan vehicle operator license(s). Frequent lifting of 26 to 75 pounds and occasional lifting of over 75 pounds.
