Position Summary
The Assistant Director - Space Planning and Programming initiates, plans, and directs activities associated with space planning, space utilization, and project management for the Institutional Space Planning and Management (ISPM) unit of the Office of the Provost; works directly with colleges and academic units on evaluation of space and facility needs; leads cross-functional space management and planning committees. Supervises regular and student employees.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in budget development and administration; accounting principles and best practices; experience in reviewing, analyzing and synthesizing data and development of scenarios and recommendations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Desired Qualifications
Five or more years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in space management, space planning, architecture, engineering or related field; strong reasoning, judgement, and communication skills; strong memory and ability to connect many functions and/or variables; must enjoy problem solving and working in a fast paced and complex systems environment with the ability to move from big picture to details; possess the ability to work successfully with a variety of constituencies in an educational institution and business environment.
