Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

Will work primarily at MSUCOM East Lansing providing direct mental health services to students including individual and group therapy. Other duties will involve
managing crisis and providing professional consultation to DMC administration, faculty and staff. Further responsibilities entail assisting with, developing and facilitating
well-being workshops (e.g., meditation, anxiety, time management) for students, and as schedule allows, attending student events (e.g., orientation sessions for new
incoming class). Other duties include regular documentation of student counseling contacts and appropriate safe-guarding of confidential records, participation on the
MSUCOM CARE Team as schedule allows, and attendance at team and supervision meetings (via Skype/Zoom) with the director of MSUCOM Personal Counseling/
Health Promotion. Further duties may be assigned at the discretion of the director of PC/HP.

In-person work at the East Lansing Campus is expected. There will be potential for remote work when assisting with our satellite campuses.

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of graduate study beyond a Bachelor's degree, such as a Masters in Social Work or licensed Professional Counselor; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in counseling in a health/mental health environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and State certification as a Social Worker, Professional Counselor or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMSW, LPC, LMFT).
