Application Developer
Position Summary
The SPA IT Team is responsible for supporting MSU's Enterprise Research Administration application, Kuali Research, for Sponsored Programs Administration unit.
Reporting to SPA IT Manager, the application developer will primarily perform technical and analytical functions in the implementation of complex integrated system projects in the field of research administration:
- Prepares technical specifications, analyzes business functions of integrated systems, designs and develops end-to-end business solutions in Enterprise Java Platform, resolves technical issues through debugging, research.
- Participates as a fully functioning professional member of medium/complex project team. The individual will participate in all phases of the project in the specified functionality area, including but not limited to requirement analysis, business process review, application design, development, integration, data migration, testing, documentation, and deployment.
- The developer must adhere to the standards and procedures defined within the project such as using Eclipse IDE, Git version control, Oracle database, technical unit testing, and documenting solutions in JIRA.

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in complex technology projects featuring the extensive use of JEE and related technologies such as Spring and Struts Frameworks; Experience in Node JS, web services, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle RDBMS; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent interpersonal skills; proven ability to manage details; demonstrated analytical skills; proven ability to take initiative, prioritize multiple tasks, and work as part of a team; experience in developing application using Java, J2EE, Oracle, Mongo DB and Node JS; knowledge and experience using University data structures and data warehouse; Knowledge of University's business process in the field of Research, HR and Finance.
