Position Summary
The Research Associate for QuEST Project will make a significant contribution to the establishment of quantum-enhanced test for fundamental symmetry at FRIB.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish the experimental hardware for precision molecular spectroscopy, with the long-term goal of testing fundamental symmetries.
- Development of the software control and data analysis program for precision molecular spectroscopy.
- Development of experimental protocol of precision molecular spectroscopy with radioactive molecules.
- Supervising undergraduate and graduate students in the project.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Physics
Minimum Requirements
- PhD in physics or closely related field; and
- Extensive experience in experimental AMO physics; or
- Extensive experience in precision metrology; and
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in cryogenic engineering;
- Demonstrated skills in building/using laser systems or microwave circuits;
- Proficiency with Python/C++/Julia/Matlab or comparable programming language;
- Creative ideas in problem solving and development of new quantum technology
