Cloud Engineer
Position Summary
The Virtual Systems Team is responsible for the operational support of on and off prem cloud infrastructure required to provide computer resources to the MSU community.
Reporting to the Virtual Systems Manager, the Cloud Engineer will primarily perform the following duties:
- Administer and maintain complex cloud environments.
- Support customers to build solutions designed to fit their needs.
- Work with vendors to anticipate and resolve complex problems.
- Develop scripts for automation, productivity improvements, and cost optimization.
- Monitor system health and proactively issue resolution for issues.
- Generate scripted system reports for platform data requests.
- Perform high-level account control configuration with full understanding of new feature offerings.
- Participate in organization and intra-team projects.
- Engage in professional development including technical training and "soft skill" development.
- Automate tenant configuration, customer on-boarding, and other common processes.
- Analyze and manage cloud resource usage to ensure cost efficiency, leveraging tools and scripts to support billing workflows.

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in providing customer support, supporting and administration of cloud and on-premises resources as required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
- One of the following - AWS practitioner, AWS Architecture, Azure Infrastructure, GCP Associate or similar certification.
- Two or more years of experience providing direct customer support.
- Experience supporting cloud Financial Operations.
