The proctor manages the administration of individual final exams, including checking students into the exam room, ensuring that students only have allowed materials with them, and giving general instructions on how to begin the exam. Once the exam has started, the proctor monitors the exam takers and answers questions as needed, communicating with the Registrars office to resolve any issues that may arise. At the end of the exam, the proctor collects any exam materials from the students. Proctors also may need to ensure that student accommodations are being met by maintaining a quiet and distraction-free environment. Time Commitment: The exam period typically lasts for 1.5 weeks at the end of each fall and spring semester, and 3 days for summer. We occasionally have availability for midterm exam proctoring during the semester, and make-up exam proctoring after the final exam period. During finals, there are two exam sessions per day in the morning and afternoon as well as variable length accommodated exams. Average shifts will be 3.5 to 4 hours including setup and completion, and you may work both sessions on a given day if you choose. Some shifts may be much longer or shorter depending on exam length, accommodations, etc. Total hours per week range from 4 - 30 hours.
