Position Summary

MSU College of Nursing invites applications for our full-time, fixed term, academic year (9 months) teaching faculty positions. The duty period for these positions will be August 16th through May 15th of each year with the possibility of teaching in the summer. The positions primary responsibility in the College of Nursing is teaching in the classroom, clinical and/or distance education. Teaching assignments may include BSN, MSN, and DNP programs, depending on the applicant's qualifications. Classes and clinical assignments are in East Lansing and a variety of mid- and south Michigan locations. Distance education strategies are also employed. Individuals in all clinical specialties are encouraged to apply.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Nursing or related field

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing in required for the rank of Instructor, and a DNP or PhD in Nursing or related field in required for the rank of Assistant and Associate Professor.
  • Unrestricted RN license without probationary status (or eligible).
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in specialty area.
  • Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience and previous teaching experience is required.

Summary of Health Risks

1. Exposure to human blood, serum, tissue and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions.
2. TB risk or work within 3 feet of human patients in a health care setting or have potential exposure to animals or to specimens with Mycobacterium.
