Position Summary
The desired candidate will be responsible for actively engaging scholars, partners, and other external constituents regarding the dissemination of information on the infrastructure and application of our digital research projects.
Successful candidate must be able to engage in a congenial and productive collaboration with users, subject-matter experts, developers, and other project managers at MATRIX in the iterative design, specification, development, and refinement of complex web applications.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to send and receive complex written and spoken messages of a specialized nature in the English language, both in person and via telephone, video conference, email, and similar devices.

Ability to successfully communicate concepts to scholarly partners and collaborators.

Ability to work with (student) developers.

Strong demonstrated organizational and development project management skills (revision/source control systems).

Ability to write clear project documentation.

Ability to establish and meet milestones.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Experience in developing web systems design, implementation, operation, and security.

Significant experience in troubleshooting, managing, designing, and integrating systems.
Desired Qualifications

Experience with linked open data, modeling, standards, and methods.

Experience with PHP web application development.

Experience building web applications with open source relational database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, etc), graph databases (Blazegraph), and data storage.

Experience working with web-data interchange formats such as JSON or XML.

Experience with HTML5 & CSS3 development.

Experience with JavaScript/JQuery development.
-
Experience with unit and production testing frameworks and methods appropriate to languages and application frameworks used.

Experience deploying and integrating geospatial/geoweb application components such as Leaflet, OpenLayers, Mapstraction, GeoServer, PostGIS, etc.

Experience with RESTful web services programming.

Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla.

Experience programming for external, 3rd party APIs.
