Working/Functional Title

Engagement Liaison

Position Summary

Responsible for coordinating and optimizing health promoting engagement activities, ensuring smooth operations, enhancing overall effectiveness, and engaging with colleges, units, campus and community stakeholders. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for building connections and fostering community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate Engagement Activities: Plan, organize, and execute engagement events, initiatives, and campaigns to promote community involvement and interaction; serve as a liaison, facilitating seamless communication and collaboration between colleges and units.

Inclusion: Incorporates multicultural diversity, health equity, trauma informed and social justice concepts and principles into the liaison and engagement strategy and activities.

Operational Support: Provide operational support for engagement activities, including managing schedules, coordinating logistics, and overseeing activity implementation.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communications: Engage with community members, stakeholders, and partner organizations to promote health and wellbeing initiatives and foster collaboration. Communicate effectively coordinate engagement efforts and ensure alignment with goals and objectives.

Evaluation and Improvement: Evaluate the effectiveness of engagement initiatives and activities, gather feedback from participants, and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Data Management: Maintain accurate records and databases related to engagement activities, including attendee information, feedback, and engagement metrics.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams within UHW to integrate engagement efforts into broader organizational initiatives.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in health promotion, social science or related field and 1-3 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in health promotion and/or community engagement. 

Desired Qualifications

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; experience working in a higher education setting.
