Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This a temporary or on-call position. Provides clerical support. Responsibilities may include secretarial, receptionist, bookkeeping, information processing or related clerical tasks. Temps On-Campus: includes College of Human Medicine, the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Detroit Medical Center, and the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Macomb University CenterTerm. On campus temps can work six (6) months then terminate for three (3) months or switch to an oncall. Off campus temps can continuously work nine(9) month appointment with a one (1) week break in between. On-Call allowed to work up to 40 hours/week for three (3) months then must be moved down to 19 hours/week and cannot work more than 520 hours in any six (6) month period.

Unit Position Summary

Administrative Assistant - Kellogg Biological Station (Hickory Corners, MI)

This part-time administrative assistant position will support the Long-Term Agroecosystem Research (LTAR) program at the Kellogg Biological Station. Responsibilities will include office and event organization, communication, accounting, and secretarial tasks related to LTAR research and engagement efforts. This is an on-site, non-remote position based at the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station in Hickory Corners, MI.


Specific tasks may include:
-Schedule meetings and record meeting minutes
-Provide meeting/field day support (nametags, registration, promotion, etc)
-Maintain mailing lists and list-servs
-Organize quarterly and annual reporting and communicate with national LTAR partners
-Provide accounting and human resource support, including compiling information for purchase orders, tracking budgets, organizing employee information, etc..
-Contribute to website maintenance and social media
-Communicate with investigators and assist with review and processing of Site Use Request Forms
-Other activities that contribute to the success of the KBS LTAR project

Desired Qualifications

Computer experience, including Microsoft software (word, excel, powerpoint), meeting scheduling, digital form development, and email communication. Preferred experience with social media platforms, updating / maintaining websites, digital file organization, and in-person communication with co-workers and event attendees.
