Position Summary

This position will assist the Chairperson for the Department of Teacher Education with departmental administrative and programs responsibilities. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: course scheduling; room assignments for courses and sections; final exam scheduling; compiling and analyzing information in order to produce and assist with departmental reports including course enrollment, faculty instructional assignments, teaching evaluations and committees; processing graduate student enrollment forms and grade changes; monitoring DF and I grades and reminding graduate students when deadlines are approaching; supporting Academic Programs Coordinator in processing enrollments for 990, 995 and 999 courses; liaison with College of Education Educational Technology office; maintaining tenure stream and fixed-term faculty load sheets; working with evaluation committees to process reappointment, promotion, and tenure materials; developing, maintaining, and analyzing additional departmental databases; sending out and collecting graduate students' annual review materials and uploading them to students' GradPlans; interpreting and explaining policies and procedures in order to answer questions and resolve problems; interacting with and working effectively with a wide range of individuals including faculty, academic and support staff, university and college administrators, and students

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical school or related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a professional office setting, performing secretarial and administrative tasks, including experience with scheduling meetings, data entry, payroll processing, office machines, email and internet usage or in performing tasks related to the area of employment; experience in word processing, spreadsheet, mail merge, database, calendaring, publishing, and/or presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Educational Studies, Educational Administration, Organizational Leadership, Business, or a related field. Experience with the following systems: Desire 2 Learn, CLIFMS, Qualtrics, Campus Solutions, EBS, SAP HR-Payroll, Kuali Financial System, and Business Intelligence. Experience with web page auditing software. Experience working in higher education and knowledge of University policies and procedures; familiarity with work activity in an academic unit; experience with both PC and MAC operating systems.
