Position Summary

A full-time Post-Doctoral research position (Research Associate) is available in the laboratory of Dr. Allison Kuipers in the Department of Medicine in the College of Human Medicine, at Michigan State University, Grand Rapids campus, as of May 1, 2025, or until filled. A motivated recent PhD graduate is sought to support aspects of Dr. Kuipers' funded research including data analysis, manuscript preparation and dissemination, as well as involvement in the development of future collaborations and grant proposals. Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. or other doctoral degree with expertise in modern epidemiological methods and statistical techniques. Experience in research related to cardiovascular disease and/or molecular epidemiology is preferred. A self-directed willingness to learn new methods and approaches, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills are highly valued. This position also has the potential for collaboration with local clinical partners and guidance in the development of an independent research career for the Post-Doc.

  • Experience conducting epidemiologic research with formal training in epidemiology and/or biostatistics required. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience conducting epidemiologic research with formal training in epidemiology and/or biostatistics required.
  • Expertise using R and/or SAS, as well as exceptional communication skills highly desirable.
