Faculty/Academic Staff
A full time Post-Doctoral research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Charles Hong in the Department of Medicine in the College of Human Medicine, at Michigan State University. An ambitious and motivated MD, PhD or MD/PhD scientist is sought to join the emerging field of chemical genetics. The Hong lab has identified a number of small molecules that specifically perturb embryonic patterning. Some of them are first-in-class molecules implicated in Wnt signaling and acid sensing GPCRs, with important clinical implications. Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. or M.D. and expertise in techniques of cell and molecular biology, with emphasis on developmental biology and cell signaling. Experience with structural biology and protein biochemistry is a plus. Depending on background and interest, the post-doc will perform experiments involving drug target identification, proteomics, Nextgen sequencing, biochemistry, computational biology, structural and/or murine or zebrafish disease models. Prior experience in these methodologies and willingness to learn new techniques are highly valued.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, age, disability or protected veteran status.
