The Pharmacy Technician will support pharmacists in the delivery of pharmaceutical care of patients through receiving, billing, and preparing prescriptions for pharmacist review; provide patient assistance at the point of sale; perform other technical functions to support pharmacy operations.
Knowledge normally acquired from specialized training in a pharmacy technician program; six months to one year of progressively more responsible or more expansive work experience in a pharmacy setting, including computer and math skills; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires possession of a current State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license and certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, requiring 20 hours of continuing education every two years to maintain certification.

Work hours are typically 8:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. Monday - Friday, and 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. on Saturday. Hours may vary as necessary to accommodate pharmacy operations.

The job requires significant physical effort and involves standing, lifting boxes, bending, and reaching for items and viewing a computer screen more than 75% of the time.
Exposure to human blood, serum, and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions; TB risk or work within three (3) feet of patients in a health care setting; wear a respirator.
