Laborer I

Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary position to work as a laborer in a wide variety of routine manual labor areas.

Unit Position Summary

Assist others in the performance of a wide variety of routine manual labor tasks, including but not necessarily limited to, the following:

• Moving, loading, and unloading of supplies, equipment, and furniture.
• Mowing lawns and landscaped areas.
• Shovel snow, sand and de-ice walkways.
• Collection and disposal of de bris.
• Cleaning, refurbishing, repair, and occasional painting of building areas and equipment.
• Planting, cultivating and harvesting of agricultural areas.
• Issuing, receiving, and storage of supplies and equipment.
• Transports supplies, materials, tools, and equipment to work site using a University vehicle.
• Operation and maintenance of vehicles.

Perform related duties as assigned including, but not necessarily limited to, the following:

• Participate in snow plan by shoveling, operating snow removal vehicles and equipment and applying ice melt products.
• Assist in football tailgate cleanup.
