Salary $29.09-$35.54 hourly upon meeting requirements. Regular in-person attendance is required to meet business needs.
In addition to an initial drug test at hire, the employer conducts random monthly drug testing throughout the year.
This position operates and monitors gas boilers, steam turbines, combined cycle gas turbines, and auxiliary equipment such as fans, compressors, pumps, heaters, cooling towers, and water treatment equipment. Performs minor operational service tasks such as lubrication.
Working swing shift is required. Duties involve working in a noisy, hot, dusty environment; performing service work in confined areas; and walking, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, and climbing ladders. Work may involve wearing self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) during emergency conditions.
Job responsibilities are as follows:
35%: Operate, check, and lubricate compressors, closed heaters, pumps, fans, and other associated equipment including low voltage motor and power systems. Operate water demineralization and condensate polisher systems. Operate manual valves that support, fluidized bed and gas boiler systems.
20%: Record and maintain accurate data related to steam operations. Perform required routine inspections to ensure equipment is in proper operating condition and is operating properly. Assist in start-up or shutdown of boilers and in turbine start-up. Record data.
15%: Perform proper lock-out/tag-out procedures for staff, under the direction of the stationary engineer 1st class. Check equipment and write work orders for needed repairs.
10%: Make periodic checks and adjustments of cooling tower system. Operate pressure-reducing and desuperheater stations and turbine extraction controls.
10%: Plan work and collaborate with plant teams associated with performing maintenance, instrument and control, and electrical work. Perform assigned equipment cleaning tasks.
10%: Correspondence through email, training, meetings, and professional development. Participate in, successfully pass training programs required, and demonstrate knowledge to panel review board of next classification, to advance to Stationary Engineer 2nd Class.
