The Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics (AFRE) and the Department of Media and Information (M&I) at Michigan State University invite applications for a full‐time, 9-month tenure system Assistant Professor of Communication and Information Technology Economics with a 65% research, 30% teaching, and 5% service assignment. The position’s start date is anticipated to be 8/16/2025. The successful candidate is expected to gain international recognition through peer-reviewed scholarly publications, pursue external funding to support their research, teach at the graduate and undergraduate level, and advise graduate students.
Applications are encouraged from scholars working within a diverse range of methodological traditions whose research addresses the economic impact, use, design, or management of information and communication technologies, including: Networking Infrastructure, Internet and Web Technologies, Software Applications, Telecommunication, or Smart Agriculture. The joint nature of this position reflects a belief in the importance of cross-disciplinary approaches to address the role and impacts of information and communication technologies on issues that might include agriculture, education, policy, food security, nutrition, health, and income.
