Position Summary

The Department of Psychology at Michigan State University is seeking to recruit a faculty member with expertise in intergroup relations for a tenure system appointment at the assistant professor level starting in Fall of 2025. The ideal candidate will have established a strong program of visible research, a history of (or clear potential for) external funding, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in a) undergraduate and graduate teaching, and b) diversity, equity, and inclusion. We seek a candidate who studies intergroup relations, broadly defined. Specific topics could include, but are not limited to, conflict and reconciliation, prejudice, stereotyping, stigma, social identities, collective action, and social inequalities. The ideal candidate works with sophisticated methodological techniques that will help distinguish MSU Psychology as a leader in the use of advanced methods to understand politics and intergroup relations. These methodological techniques might include, but are not limited to, quantitative longitudinal models, social network analysis, natural language processing models, or large-scale multi-lab experimental studies. The ideal candidate may also have substantive and methodological interests related to intergroup relations outside of those areas listed. Doctorate -Psychology or related field

Minimum Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology or related field required by the start of the appointment.
