Associate Director - Research Specialist

Position Summary

The Associate Director of the Center for Statistical Training & Consulting (CSTAT) collaborates with the Director in carrying out CSTAT’s mission.  Successful candidates will (1) coordinate CSTAT’s projects with CSTAT consultants; (2) communicate and collaborate with CSTAT clients and partners; (3) mentor and coach graduate students; (4) assist with the overall administration. The position is approximately 60% administrative work and 40% research collaborations. This is a full-time (100% FTE) Academic Specialist in the continuing system.

This is a full-time (100% FTE) Academic Specialist with an initial appointment period of 3 years and can be extended subject to satisfactory progress.

Minimum Requirements

The Associate Director candidate is committed to rigor and reproducibility in collaborative research and to advancement of graduate education, has experience in providing statistical support, has strong administrative and management abilities, has proficient knowledge of applied statistical methodology and relevant programming skills such as in R, and is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) among students, staff, and faculty. Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with people (team members, scientific experts, institutional partners), oral and written communication skills to interact with cross-disciplinary researchers, and ability to work effectively under deadlines are essential. A Doctorate in statistics or quantitative field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience of progressively responsible consulting and management experience is required.
