Position Summary
We seek an excellent post-doctoral associate to conduct research exploring plant-microbiome mediators of plant stress resilience for bioenergy crops. The duties for this position include characterizing microbial isolates and building synthetic communities. The individual in this position will also participate in building shared resources to catalog and share information on microbes with demonstrated improvement of bioenergy plant performance.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Plant, Soil, Microbial Sciences, Ecology
Minimum Requirements
A PhD in a field related to plant, soil, microbial sciences, ecology, or bioinformatics/genomics.
Candidates should be skilled with standard microbiology and molecular biology techniques. Experience in conducting growth chamber, greenhouse, or field experiments is expected. Previous experience building and deploying synthetic communities of microbes is desired. Strong quantitative skills and experience with bioinformatic and statistical analyses of microbial communities is expected.
Desired Qualifications
The successful applicant will independent, motivated, and able to work as part of a collaborative team. They will have proven skills in microbiology and molecular laboratory techniques, as well as strong writing and communication skills.
