The successful candidate will manage accounting and operational activities, supervise staff and prepare financial statements and reports for the Organizational Units which comprise the University Health and Wellbeing MAU including but not limited to Employee Assistance Program, Health4U, Occupational Health/Travel Clinic, Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities, WorkLife Office, Counseling and Psychiatric Services, Center for Survivors, Student Health Services, Health Promotion and Safe Place. The position reports to the MAU Chief of Staff-Business and Finance.
Characteristic Duties Include:
Researches, prepares and verifies the accuracy of financial statements and reports in order to provide information for Departmental Unit personnel and University departments. Develops, implements and oversees accounting controls for the Department. Prepares and reviews general journal accounting entries and reconciles Departmental records to University account ledgers. Assists in developing Departmental financial policies and procedures. Follows up on delinquent accounts in order to achieve higher collection rates.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Accounting; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in supervision, accounting procedures and developing accounting controls, policies and procedures; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
5+ years of accounting experience
Knowledge of University policies and procedures such as University Manual of Business Procedures
Experience with EBS/Kuali
