Assistant/Associate Professor Tenure System
The Department of Kinesiology at Michigan State University seeks a full-time, tenure system faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank with expertise in exercise and sport psychology. The ideal candidate will enhance the research and external funding portfolio of the department, be committed to quality teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students, and value service to the institution, profession, and community. Opportunities to collaborate exist throughout the department, including within our Institute for the Study of Youth Sports. The position is a 9-month academic year appointment with an August 16, 2022 start date.
The MSU Department of Kinesiology is world renowned for research, teaching, and outreach in pediatric kinesiology. Housed in the College of Education, the department serves approximately 1,400 undergraduate students and 100 graduate students. Duties of this position include:
· Conduct a vigorous, cutting-edge scholarly research program that will augment department recognition and enhance graduate student recruitment.
· Seek and obtain external funding.
· Teach in all modes of delivery and at all levels in areas of expertise and department curricular need, with particular focus on the Psychosocial concentration area.
· Recruit, advise, and mentor graduate students at the master and doctoral levels.
· Perform service as appropriate to the department, college, university, profession, and community.
